Cafe La Gaffe.

Had lunch with the Pa today. we went to Cafe La Gaffe on Baldwin. I don't know why I assumed it would be part of Winterlicious, but it was reasonably priced and delish. We got an avocado and brie sandwich, and a salmon and roaster pepper sandwich. I also ordered my Pa's first pint of Creemore and he was a little startled by my beer enthusiasm. We went there because a) it's a super quaint place, and b) they have a wooden mask on their wall amidst their mismatched decoration that is the same style as my Pa's collection. Pa bought his masks over 30 years ago from a family friend and I have grown up with them always hanging somewhere around the house (though they are much smaller). I asked, but they won't sell their giant one. Let me know if you know anything about the style/period/origin and the such! you can see it in the photo.

Bon Appetite!

  1. I love how you have to post your question on the internetz for it to be answered by your sister. The masks are from Sri Lanka, they're known as ceremonial [theater, opera] Devil/Demon Masks.
